Ayurvedic Detoxing

Oil Pulling

This body¬†cleansing practice involves swishing oil in your mouth for 10-15 minutes. It’s generally done first thing in the morning, using an oil cold pressed sesame oil, coconut oil, sunflower, or walnut oil. By swishing the oil over your teeth, tongue and gums, bacteria and toxins are drawn out of your body through your mouth tissue. When finished spit the toxic oil into the kitchen trash, rinse your mouth with warm water, brush your teeth, and maybe even scrape your tongue. Just some of the possible benefits include: a stronger immune system, restful sleep, increased energy, clearer skin, whiter teeth, healthier gums and mouth tissue, the list goes on. This detoxing ritual can become a palatable practice for anyone and everyone. After expending a bottle of cold pressed sesame oil myself, and observing the effects, I will say for sure that it’s worked for me and was well worth the time and effort. After oil pulling every morning for several weeks I felt noticeably and consistently more energetic and clear headed.
